I wept when I watched this video. It is an amazing reminder about never letting obstacles keep you from doing what you want to do. I am thankful that Nick Vujicic reminds us – just keep getting up. For as many times as you fall, just keep getting up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZ46Ot4_lLo&feature=related
This song moves me every time I hear it. And I don’t play it lightly. I only play this song when I am ready to rekindle my life. When I heard it this past weekend I realized it is the …perfect song to begin a new semester of Happiness 101 – because new students truly are at a crossroad and ready to begin a new, happier life. Bring it on. http://216.169.248.35/music/download-songs/pop-adult-contemporary-76705-everything-new
Yesterday I turned a negative into a positive. I had forgotten to remove the Suicide Prevention Coalition meeting from my calendar, so I ended up with over a two hour gap in my schedule. I used the opportunity to get many things done the biggest of which was that I knocked out nearly all of the remaining interviews for the next Happiness 101 class. I should be ready to send out the Golden Ticket E-mail sooner than later. Today I pause to express gratitude for the dividends paid by practicing what I preach – the ability to quickly and easily turn a “negative” and turn it into a positive.
I played guitar all through high school but my guitar collected dust into last year when a friend got me back into it. (Re)Learning guitar in the 21st century is an amazing experience. YouTube provides many guitar tutorials and if that doesn’t get it, Ultimate-Guitar.com provides step-by-step in a number of different formats including lead, rhythm and bass. They also offer it in tab and music forms. Incredible. Today I express thanks to Ultimate-guitar.com for rekindling my passion for guitar – all for free!
Once sugar was harder to get and more expensive. Now it is plentiful and sweetens my life and a daily basis. Out of respect for those on a diet I will refrain from listing all the goodies but would like to say that if my coffee were blond but not sweet, the relationship would probably end.
Got the sprinkler system up and running. Only had to fix one sprinkler head and that only took 5 minutes. It was also really nice that my wife volunteered to help. It made us feel closer, like a team – and that also reduced the time and trouble. Today I am thankful the sprinklers are working.
There is something comforting about looking over the city at any time of night and seeing the twinkling of the city lights. It creates a feeling in me of kinship – that there are other night owls out there. They remind me that I am never really alone. I like the different colors and how they winkle and twinkle, dancing until dawn chases them away. In this moment I am grateful for the city lights.
On this day I pause to give thanks for mothers who have populated the world, enduring the pain of childbirth and doing what needed to be done for the children. Where would we be without mothers (literally!)? We would be no where, extinct. Today I give thanks for the love and sacrifice women give to keep the world spinning.
Last night I had the pleasure to plunge into the Fondu experience – cheese and chocolate to be specific. Wow! Sinful! I allowed myself to savor bread, little sausages, apples, broccoli and cauliflower dipped in delicious cheese. I also enjoyed mango, banana, Rice Krispie squares, pound cake, coconut and pineapple dipped in chocolate. Exquisite!!
